CELEBRATIONS - BIRTHS

Akers birth

Eric and Melissa Akers are proud to announce the birth of their beautiful daughter, Mikaela Samantha. She was born on Father's Day, June 16, 1996, at 4:04 a.m. at Roanoke Community Hospital. She weighed 8 lbs. 4 3/4 ozs. and was 21 inches long. She has a big brother, Nathaniel Wayne, 4 1/2 years old. Her grandparents are David and Carol Campbell and Leon and Virgie Akers. Her great-grandmothers are Kathleen Biggs and Pansy Campbell. We would like to thank Dr. Carey Winkler, Dr. Larry Dennis, Wanda, and Merry at the Pre-Natal Diagnostic Center for their excellent care. Most of all we thank God for our 2 healthy children.

Ayers birth

Peter Jacob Ayers was born June 13, 1996 at 2:15 p.m. in Lewis-Gale Hospital. He weighed 7 lbs. 12 oz. and was 20 1/2 inches long. The attending physician was Dr. Debra Clapp.

His parents are Roger and Patricia Ayers, and he has a sister, Stephanie, 5. His grandparents are Charles and Eva Estep of Vinton, and Edwin and Martha Ayers of Roanoke.

Beard birth

Seth Tyson Beard was born June 5, 1996, at 12:45 at Communi ty Hospital. He weighed 5 lbs. 13 1/4 oz. and was 19 inches long. His parents are Ron and Hope Beard. Sister Rachel Beard is age three. Grandparents are Steve and Margaret Beard, Roanoke, and Irv and Betty Craft, Roswell, Ga. Attending physicians were Dr. Farber and Dr. Garcia. Special thanks to labor and delivery nurses and Drs. Farber and Garcia for the extra attention given to us in getting Seth here safely. Thanks to God for blessing us with two beautiful children.

Clark birth

Lee and Sandra Clark joyfully announce the birth of their daughter Cary-Grace. She was born May 27, 1996 at 9:59 p.m. at Community Hospital. Delivered by Dr. Larry Dennis, Cary-Grace weighed 7 lbs. 1/4 oz. and was 20 inches long. We praise God for a safe delivery and ``peace that transends all understanding''. Special thanks to our family and friends who have prayed and rejoiced with us. Thanks also to Drs. Dennis and Winkler, along with their staff for their excellent care, patience and understanding, and to Niki and our ``angel'' Rebecca for their help during delivery.

We praise God for our two beautiful daughters, Anna Caroline, who is in her Heavenly Father's arms, and Cary-Grace, who is in our's.

Fulk birth

One June 13, 1996, our lives were blessed with the birth of Brandon Michael Fulk, son of Russell and Brenda Fulk. Proud grandparents are George and Maxine Fulk and Wallace and Beckey Rigney. Great-grandmother, Ella Smith. We would like to tha nk the staff at Community Hospital. Also special thanks to Cherl Clayborne for all her help.

Griffin birth

Luke Leslie Griffin was born June 14, 1996 at 3:15 p.m. in Community Hospital. He weighed 9 lbs. 13 1/4 oz. and was 21 3/4 inches long. The attending physician was Dr. Julien Meyer, Jr.

His parents are Candy and Glenn Griffin. His grandparents are Richard and Diana Morefield of Roanoke, and Anne Marie Griffin and the late Leslie Griffin of Vinton.

Stephenson birth

Bob Stephenson, Donna Musgrave and their son, Brian, proudly announce the birth of Audrey Lynn Stephenson on May 23rd, 1996 at Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital in Roano ke. She weighed 6 pounds 6 1/2 ounces and measured 19 1/2 inches long at birth. Special thanks to all those who helped with our birth experience, especially, Dr. Robert Vermillion, Dr. Bobby Dallas, Christine, Mercedes and Georgianna.

Taylor birth

Shane Walker Taylor was born May 16, 1996, at 3:58 p.m. at Community Hospital. He weighed 5 lbs. 7 oz. and was 18 1/2 inches long. His parents are Dwain and Zandie Taylor. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Melvin R. Taylor, Catawba, Va., Mrs. Edwina Brown, Salem, Va., Mr. Robert Hurley, Sophia, N. C. Attending physicians were Dr. Mills and Dr. Larry Dennis.
