Bauer-Winebriner

Julie Paige Winebriner and David Christian Bauer were married June 29, 1996 at Greene Memorial United Methodist Church. The ceremony was officiated by Reverend Robert Watts and Reverend Ward Donat. The bride's parents hosted a reception at Hotel Roanoke following the ceremony.

Holly Nichols, of Round Hill, Virginia, served as matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Lori Drumheller of Elliston, cousin of the bride, Michele Kalinowski of Arlington, Virginia and Barbara Pahl, of Washington, D.C. Julianne and Jamie Opra of Keizer, Oregon, cousins of the groom, served as flower g irls.

Dale Isaak, of Wilsonville, Oregon, served as best man. The groomsmen were Matt Boring of New Haven, Connecticut, and Tae Rhee and Dave Robertson, both of Portland, Oregon. Matt Hood, of Kansas City, Missouri, served as usher.

Bill Jonas of Williamsburg, Virginia, friend of the bride, read a scripture. Jill Mayo, cousin of the bride, served as guestbook attendant. Amy Mayo, cousin of the bride, and Wendy Adornato, served as greeters. The wedding director was Robbie Warlitner, a friend of the family.

The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Lanford of Roanoke, and Mr. and Mrs. Wallace F. Winebriner of Covington, is a graduate of Alleghany High School, the University of Virginia, and Georgetown University. She is employed by the Chicago Board of Trade in its Washington, D.C. office.

The groom, son of Mr. Richard A. Bauer of Wilsonville, Oregon, and Ms. Janet Bauer of Keizer, Oregon, is a graduate of McNary High School and Willamette University. He is employed in the Washington, D.C. office of Senator Mark O. Hatfield. After a wedding trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple will reside in Washington, D.C.

Bradberry-Linkous

Jennifer Ann Linkous and Jason Allen Bradberry were married June 8, 1996 in First Baptist Church of Mauldin, S.C., with the Rev. Jack Perdue officiating. The reception was held at Kilgore Lewis House, Greenville, S.C.

The maid of honor was Shrenda Pelfrey. Bridesmaids were Aimee Brannon, Sandra Nebel, Nicole Thompkins, and Kim Nicols. Honorary bridesmaids were Ginger Linkous Cromer, Jessica Eaves and Dottie Linkous, sisters. Junior bridesmaid was Ashley Knox. Flowergirls was Meranda Lowery.

Best man was Neal Bradberry, father. Ushers were Keyes Kellett, Lewis Marshall, Jr., Carroll Nicols, Dale Owens, and Martin Waldrep. Ringbearer was Drew Hopkins. Junior groomsman was Patrick Cox. The guestbook was attended by Julie Rieger and Sheri Wilson.

The bride wore a candlelight white straight lace gown with sweetheart neckline featuring a fitted lace bodice embellished with sequins and pearls and having a brocade lace train. She carried a bouquet of white roses, calla lilies, stephanotis, and Lily of the Valley.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Linkous and Mrs. Treva Toothman of Blacksburg. She is a graduate of Pulaski County High School, Dublin, Va., and the University of South Carolina, Columbia, S.C. She is employed by Roper Hospital as a Cardiovascular Specialist, Charleston, S.C.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Neal Bradberry of Mauldin, S.C. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, Columbia, S.C., and is employed by Roper Hospital's Cardiac Rehab, Charleston, S.C.

The newlyweds will live in Charleston, South Carolina, after their wedding trip to Negril, Jamacia.

Burton-Arbogast

Angela Marie Arbogast and David F. Burton were united in marriage on Saturday, June 29, 1996 at 2:00 p.m. in Parkway Wesleyan Church in Roanoke. The Reverend John Ott performed the ceremony. The bride was escorted to the altar by her father.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. Robert B. Arbogast of Vinton, and Mrs. Nancy L. Hustead of Roanoke. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Frances Beckner and Mrs. Helen Wallace and the stepgranddaughter of Mrs. Mary J. Arbogast.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald F. Burton of Vinton.

Carla J. Epperson of Roanoke, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Tammy L. Breedon, sister of the bride; Melinda D. Blankenship and Charlotte I. Baldwin. The flowergirl was Miss Alisha M. Penton, daughter of the bride.

Donald F. Burton, father of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Shannon T. Burton, brother of the groom; Thomas J. Rogers, uncle of the groom; and Robert B. Arbogast, father of the bride. The ringbearer was Christopher S. Nichols.

After a honeymoon trip to Aruba the couple will reside in Vinton.

Earnest-Hutchins

Penny Marlene Hutchins and Tommy Lincoln Earnest, Jr. were married June 29, 1996 in Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren in Floyd, Va., by the Reverend Roy U. Turpin.

The bride is the daughter of George and Frances Hutchins of Floyd. Penny is the granddaughter of the late Frank and Thelma Green of Blacksburg, and the late Glenn and Doris Hutchins of Vernon, Vermont. The bridegroom is the son of Tommy and Marie Earnest, Sr. of Christiansburg. His grandparents are the late Fred and Ruth Earnest of Rock, W.Va., and the late Edward Lee Bravo; and Sibbett and Mary Merier of Woodbine, Georgia.

The bride, escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, wore a gown of white bridal satin by Madeline Gardner for Mori Lee featuring a high Victorian neckline and long princess sleeves tapering to a point over the hand. The bodice and basque waistline are adorned with appliques of cut-out lace. The full skirt is accented in back with a lace bow and satin rosette with pyramids of Battenberg lace cascading down the grand cathedral train accented by soft satin roses.

Alicia Carden, friend of the bride and groom of Christiansburg, was the maid of honor. bridesmaids were Leigh Anne and Susan Cupp, both cousins of the bride of Virginia Beach, Va., and Robin Wright, friend of the bride and groom of Salem, Va. Kristie Carden, friend of the bride and groom, of Christiansburg, was the flower girl.

Colen Bishop, friend of the bride and groom, of Christiansburg, was best man. The groomsmen were Kenny and Gary Hutchins, brothers of the bride, of Floyd, Patrick Earnest, brother of the groom, and Tommy Earnest, Sr., father of the groom, both of Christiansburg.

A program of wedding music was provided by pianists Marilyn Gallimore and Teresa Baker, and soloists Teresa Baker and Sherry Quesenberry, all friends of the bride and groom of Floyd.

The wedding director was Linda Mitchell, friend of the bride and groom of Floyd. Guestbook attendants were April Sedelmeyer, cousin of the groom of Wilmington, N.C., and Amanda Minnix, cousin of the groom of Princeton, W.Va. A reception, catered by Zeida Italiano, friend of the bride, with Sandy Wade assisting, also friend of the bride, was held in the church fellowship hall.

The bride an d groom are both employed at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem, Va.

Following their honeymoon to Jamaica, the couple will make their home in Floyd, Va.

Ewers-Johnson

Michelle Lee Johnson and Richard Kemp Ewers were married April 27, 1996 in First United Methodist Church by Rev. Tom Joyce and Rev. Todd Shell. The reception was held at the church. Maid of honor was April Johnson, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Carrie Ewers, sister of the groom. Tammy Mason, Rene' Deck, Pam Mangels and Mary Sartin, friends. Flowergirl was Andrea Fowler, cousin of the bride. Best man was Todd Sartin, friend of the groom. Ushers were Joe Daponte', Joel Keith, Lance Taylor, friends, Michael Murray and Donald Roman, uncles of the groom. Ringbearer was Austin Shell, cousin of the groom. Candlelighters were Lance Taylor and Joe Daponte'. The guestbook was attended by Ally Harrison. The bride wore an of-the-shoulder white satin sheath. She carried a bouquet of white roses with purple lilacs and lilies.

The bride is a daughter of Victor & Mary Johnson of Roanoke. She is a graduate of Northside High School, Roanoke and Va. Western Comm. College, Roanoke. She is employed by MKG Enterprises. The bridegroom, son of B. D. Cummings o f Salem, is a graduate of Franklin Co. High School, Rocky Mount. He is employed by Federal Express. The newlyweds will live in Roanoke after the wedding trip to the Poconos.

Ferguson-Newman

Carole Whitenack Newman an Joey Lee Ferguson were united in marriage Friday night, June 21, 1996, at 17th Street Baptist Church. The 7 p.m. double ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Ken Gray. A reception was held in the fellowship hall following the ceremony.

The bride, a daughter of the late Harold and Billie Whitenack was escorted to the altar by her grandson, Cory Newman. Debra Newman, granddaughter of the bride, was her attendant. Flower girls were Brittany and Sara Newman, granddaughters of the bride. Jordan Newman, grandson of the bride, was the ring bearer.

The groom is a son of the late Jessie and Jennie Ferguson. His brother, Jerry Ferguson, served as best man. The ushers were Matthew and Richard Ferguson, nephews of the groom. Music was provided by Brian Geiser. Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson are both employed by Sears.

After a wedding trip to Williamsburg, the couple will reside in Roanoke County. The bride and groom want to thank all their family and friends for making their special day so perfect.

Gauldin-Hansen

Keri Leigh Hansen and Robert Michael Gauldin were married June 29, 1996, at Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church with Rev. Ken Stoff officiating. The reception was held at Hunting Hills. The maid of honor was Amanda Bullen, friend of bride. Bridesmaids were Heather McMahon and Jennifer Smith, friends of bride. Best man was Robert Gauldin, father of groom. Ushers included Brian Myers, Mike Bremser, friends of groom, Charlie Gauldin brother of groom, J. P. Hansen and Jeff Hansen, brothers of bride. Photography by Jim Markey. Hanks-Smith

Lisa Renee Smith and Parlie Franklin Hanks III were married June 9, 1996, in Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Louis Weaver officiating. The reception was held at Bethel United Methodist Church. The bride is a daughter of Wilford and Nancy Maxwell, Elkin, N. C. She graduated from Floyd County High School, Floyd, Va., and is employed by Wolverine Gasket Mfg., Blacksburg, Va. The groom is the son of Parlie F. Hanks, Jr., Blacksburg, Va. He graduated from Christiansburg High School, Christiansburg, Va., and is employed by Corning, Inc., Blacksburg, Va. The newlyweds will live in Radford, Va., after a wedding trip to the Smokey Mountains.

Haskins-Grant

Sarah Grant and Darryl Haskins were married June 29, 1996, in Woodlawn United Methodist Church. Rev. Roy Hedrick officiated.

The matron of honor was Brenda Taylor, friend of the bride.

Jonathan Haskins, son of the groom, was best man.

The bride is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Arthur Grant of Roanoke. Sarah is a teacher with Roanoke County Schools.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Haskins and Mrs. Brenda Brown of Rocky Mount. Darryl is a supervisor for the Lane Company.

Hoyt-Beauchesne

Carolyn L. Beauchesne and Cecil E. Hoyt III were married June 22, 1996 in a candle light ceremony in Rosalind Hills Baptist Church by Pastor Tom Stocks. The reception was held at the Roanoke Sheraton Ballroom. Maids of honor were Robin Beauchesne, sister of the bride and Cheryl Martineck, friend. Bridesmaids were Cindy Delp, Stephanie Draper, Christi Froiland and Lesley Roth, friends. Flowergirl was Jessica Goodspeed-Roach. Best men were Joey Hoyt, brother of the groom, and Brian Bower, friend. Ushers were Dannie Hoyt, brother of the groom, B. J. Jackson, Jody Kelly, friends, and Bill Beauchesne, brother of the bride. Candlelighters were Jody Kelly & Bill Beauchesne. The guestbook was attended by Mrs. Amy Ward. The wedding director was Dana Kelly. The bride wore her mother's ivory gown with a chapel train. She carried a bouguet of magnolias & ivory roses.

The bride is a daughter of Robert & Jean Beauchesne of Springfield, Arkansas. She is a graduate of Roanoke College in Salem and is employed by Roanoke Cit y Schools. The bridegroom, son of Joe & Alice Wheeler and Cecil E. Hoyt II of Troutville, Va., is a graduate of Lord Botetourt in Troutville. He is employed by Roanoke City. The newlyweds will live in Blue Ridge,Va. after the wedding trip to Florida.

King-Shelor

It seems like just yesterday when we were on the beautiful Island of St. Thomas, USVI, saying ``I do''.

On this our first anniversary, we would like to thank our friends and family for making our island wedding and luau reception a wonderful way to start our lives together.

Angela Dawn Shelor and Joseph Frederick King were married Monday, July 3, 1995, at the Marriott's Frenchman's Reef gazebo on the Island of St. Thomas, USVI. The late afternoon ceremony was officiated by Rev. William Arnet. Island music was provided by a local musician.

The bride and groom, wearing island wedding attire, were joined in the gazebo for the ceremony by Windel and Diann Shelor, parents of the bride, and David and Virginia Lam, stepfather and mother of the groom.

After a week long honeymoon in the Islands, the couple returned to a luau reception hosted by their parents in Troutville.

The outdoor reception was catered by Murphy's Catering and featured a full Hawaiian menu. Tropical flowers for the tables and leis for the bride and groom were imported from Hawaii, and sand and palm trees were brought in to turn the outdoor reception into a tropical paradise.

Pictures for the evening were taken by Vince Miller Photography, and music was provided by Mr. Terry Foss.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Windel Shelor of Christiansburg. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. T.D. Blankenship, Sr., of Christiansburg. Paternal grandparents are Ms. Mary Shelor of Christiansburg and the late Carva Shelor.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Virginia Lam of Troutville and the late Sterling F. King. Maternal grandparents are Ms. Jeanette Schosger of Corning, N. Y., and the late Edmund J. Schosger. Paternal grandparents are Ms. Hallie King of Montvale and the late Sterling F. King.

The bride is a graduate of Christiansburg High School, National Business College, Virginia Western Community College and Virginia Tech. Angela is employed as an accountant with Robert L. Kelly III & Associates, CPA's.

The groom is a graduate of Roanoke Catholic High School and attended Virginia Western Community College. Joseph is owner of Roanoke Seat Cover Shop, Inc.. The couple now reside in Troutville.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph King would like to send many thanks to their very special friends, Russ and Miss Good of Annapolis, Maryland, and Mike and Sarah White of Roanoke, without who's many hours of help the reception would not have been possible.

We would also like to extend much love and thanks to our parents for their help and support, both with the wedding and reception.

Tammy E. Williams and Evant W. King were married July 2, 1995 in Penn Forest Wesleyan. The officiating clergy was Pastor Greg Reynolds.

The maid of honor was Donna Jackson. Bridesmaids were Tabathia Williams, Ellen St.Clair, and Starla King. The best man was Richard St.Clair. Ushers were James Mason, Bruce King, and Ralph Hayes. Ringbearer was Ryan King. Guestbook attendant was Gloria Burrell.

The bride is a daughter of William and Mary White of Troutville.

The bridegroom is a son of the late Shirley King of Roanoke.

The newlyweds live in Roanoke after the wedding trip to Orlando, Florida.

Martin-Stenzel

Kristi Lyn Stenzel and Brian Scott Martin were married on May 18, 1996 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor David Delaney officiating. The reception was held at The Homeplace in Catawba, Va.

The maid of honor was Wendy Stenzel, sister of the bride and the best man was Jon Schmidt, friend of the groom. Ushers were Scott Stenzel, brother of the bride and Jason Bryant, cousin of the groom. Dawn McCormack, friend of the bride, was the guestbook attendant and Dean Stenzel, father of the bride, was a reader during the ceremony.

The bride wore a full length white organza gown with a v-neckline and teacup sleeves that framed the beaded lace bodice. A beaded lace pyramid accented the cathedral train. She carried a bouquet of white roses and purple irises.

The bride is the daughter of Dean and Judi Stenzel of Wilmington, Del. She gra duated from Martinsville High School and The University of Virginia, and is employed by the HoneyTree Early Learning Centers.

The groom is the son of Frank and Shirley Martin of Roanoke, Va. He graduated from Cave Spring High School and National Business College and is employed by HoneyTree Early Learning Centers.

The newlyweds reside in Roanoke following their wedding trip to Walt Disney World.

McClung-Smith

Angela M. Smith and Brian E. McClung were married June 15, 1996 at Rosalind Hills Baptist Church by Reverend Tom Stocks. Maid of honor was Pam Fields of Roanoke. Bridesmaid was Cassandra Morris of Vinton. Best man was Chris Perry of Roanoke.

The bride is the daughter of Charlotte M. Martin and Donald W. Smith, both of Roanoke. She is a student at Virginia Western Community College and is employed at M.J. Designs in Roanoke. The groom, son of Joan M. McClung of Roanoke and the late Steven A. McClung, is a graduate of Ferrum College. He is employed by the N.C. Department of Corrections in Yanceyville, N.C. The couple will reside in Danville, Va.
