Arnold-Witt

Tina Renee Witt and Richard Norman Arnold were married June 22, 1996 at Bernard's Landing, with Dr. Donald Gillette officiating. The reception was held at Bernard's Landing.

The bride was escorted by Travis Harry Witt, brother of the bride. Matron of honor was Teresa Witt Stanley, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jenna Carr Arnold, sister-in-law of the groom, Karen Salmon Witt, sister-in-law of the bride, Melissa Clements Brockwell, Beth Bingman Crouch, Trista Saunders Farrell, Kim Froman Norman, friends of the bride, and Wendy Witt Lake, cousin of the bride.

Best man was Lee Arnold, brother of the groom. Ushers were John Dynes, II, William Farrell, II, Ty Hamill, Glenn Thornhill, III, Wyatt Thornhill, Gary Woodson, friends of the groom, and Jim Stanley, brother-in-l aw of the bride. Ringbearers were Taylor B. Witt, Davis P. Stanley, and Beckham A. Stanley, nephews of the bride. Wedding director was Judy Fitzgerald. Guestbook attendant was Heather White.

The bride wore a raw silk a-lined gown adorned with Venetian lace. Her bouquet was a mixture of white and pink roses.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Moran of Huddleston. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, and is employed by Bedford County Schools.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lee Arnold of Moneta. He is a graduate of Radford University, and is employed by Holeston Energies.

The newlyweds will live in Bedford, after their wedding trip down the Intercoastal Waterway.

Barnett-Meacham

Rebecca Meacham and Jason Barnett were married July 27, 1996 in Bonsack Baptist Church. The officiating clergyman was Dr. Robert. G. Moore, III. The reception was held at Holiday Inn-Tanglewood.

Tammy Goldsmith, friend of the bride, served as matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Jill Cramer, cousin of the bride, Amy Peters, friend of the bride, Jill Meacham and Stacy Meacham, sisters-in-law of the bride. Jeff Barnett was his brother's best man. The groomsmen were Trey Barnes and Mike Kidd, friends of the groom; Chris Meacham and Mark Meacham, brothers of the bride. The ushers were Jeff White, Corey White and Derek Claybrook, friends of the groom; and Lannie Hillabrand, cousin of the bride. Austin Hegarty and Sean Hegarty, cousins of the groom, were the ringbearers. Rebecca White was the guestbook attendant and Debra Hillabrand was the program attendant.

The bride wore the same dress her Mother wore 28 years ago.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mr s. Russ Meacham of Troutville. She is a graduate of James Madison University and is employed by Reynolds Metals Company as a Systems Analyst.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Barnett of Dallas, Texas. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech and is employed by SCT Data Center as a Systems Analyst.

Following the wedding trip to St. Lucia, the newlyweds will reside in Richmond.

Bell-Simmons

Julie Catherine Simmons and Charles Matthew Bell were married July 27, 1996 in Cave Spring Baptist Church. Pastor Richard Elmore officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Harold Ralph Simmons and the late Wanda McMillion Simmons of Roanoke, Va. The groom is the son of Larry Bell of Florence, S.C. and Marilyn Wilson of Roanoke, Va.

Miss Tonda Stallard, friend of the bride, served as maid of honor. The bridal attendants were Sheila Mann, Roanoke, Va., Linda Barrett, Roanoke, Va., Amy Wilson Hartung, Lexington, Ky., Susan Young Delp, Roanoke, Va., and Susan Brothers Ellinger, Staunton, Va. Cheyenne Lackey served as flower girl.

Mr. Larry Bell, father of the groom, served as best man. The groomsmen were John Bell, brother of the groom, Bunn, N.C.; Mike Anderson, Roanoke, Va., Jon Honse, Roanoke, Va., Tim Ayers, Roanoke, Va., Brian Allder, Roanoke, Va., all friends of the groom. Vincent Lackey served as ring bearer.

The guest book was attended by Leslie Nash, friend of the bride. The program attendant was Maureen Bezold, friend of the bride. Photography was provided by Jim Markey. A reception followed at the Holiday Inn-Tanglewood.

The bride is a graduate of William Byrd High School and Radford University. She received a BS in Psychology and is returning in the Fall to pursue a Masters in Learning Disabilities. She is employed with Blue Ridge Community Services as a Residential Counselor. The groom is a graduate of Cave Spring High School and is currently pursuing a BS in Early Elementary Education. He is a full-time student.

Following a honeymoon trip to Ochos Rios, Jamaica the couple will reside in Roanoke.

Bright-Johnson

The marriage of Michele Renee Johnson and Marvin Curtis Bright, II was held on July 27, 1996 at six o'clock in the evening at Furnace Creek Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, Virginia. The Reverend Troy E. Mays officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Margie F. McGuire of Fredricksburg, Virginia, and Claude W. Johnson of Callaway, Virginia. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis T. Johnson of Callaway, and Mrs. Vickie Holland of Glade Hill, Virginia, and the late Mr. Grady Holland. The bride is a graduate of Franklin County High School and Radford University. She is employed by McNeil Consumer Products Company.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin C. Bright of Roanoke, Virginia. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Williams of Kingsport, Tennessee, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lindsey Bright of Bristol, Tennessee. The groom is a graduate of Cave Spring High School and attended Virginia Western Community College. He is President of Bright Services, Inc.

Inglath Cooper of Roanoke, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Karmela Lejarde of Washington, D.C., sister-in-law of the bride, Samantha Jordan, and Melinda Justice, both of Roanoke, Cynthia Tolbert of Glen Allen, Virginia, and Cynthia Wood of Richmond, Virginia, all friends of the bride, served as bridesmaids. Katie McGuire served as flowergirl.

Marvin C. Bright, father of the groom, served as his son's best man. Mark Bright of Washington, D.C., brother of the groom, Brent Johnson of Washington, D.C., brother of the bride, Mac Cooper of Roanoke, brother-in-law of the bride, Bobby Andrews of Birmingham, Alabama, and Todd Hearp of Roanoke, all friends of the groom, served as groomsmen.

C.L. McGuire of Fredricksburg, Virginia, stepfather of the bride, presented the scripture reading. Angie Holland and Kristy Holland, both of Rocky Mount, Virginia, cousins of the bride, attended the guest register. Music for the ceremony was performed by Holly Lamb of Roanoke, soloist, Kevin Lamb of Roanoke, organist, Bill Kinzie of Roanoke, violinist, and Debra Wiley of Roanoke, pianist.

The wedding was directed by Lynne Henley of Roanoke.

The bride wore a white sheath gown with an Italian lace overlay and an accordion tr ain by Demetrios. She carried a bouquet of red roses.

A reception was held at Hidden Valley Country Club in Salem, Virginia.

Following a honeymoon in Aruba, the couple will reside in Roanoke.

Cepelnik-Dalton

Mary Angela Dalton and David Hadwick Cepelnik were married July 27, 1996 in Sweet Home Baptist Church, Princeton, W.Va., with Elder Thurman J. Belcher officiating. The reception was held at Fred Gilbert Center, Princeton, W.Va.

The matrons of honor were Becky Baldwin and Lisa Belcher, sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Joyce Barrett, Amanda Reece, Veronica Dalton, cousins of the bride, and Teri Cepelnik, sister-in-law of the groom. The flowergirl was Kristan Leigh Belcher, cousin of the bride.

The best men were Hadwick Cepelnik, father of the groom, and Marty Cepelnik, brother of the groom. The ushers were Darren Honaker, Clinton Cochran, David Tilley, and David Bary, friends of the groom. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Dalton of Roanoke, Va. She is a graduate of Wil liam Fleming High School and Virginia Western Community College in Roanoke. She is employed by the Law Office of L. Richard Padgett, Jr.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hadwick Cepelnik of Elbert, W.Va. He is a graduate of West Virginia University in Morgantown, W.Va., and is employed by the National Park Service - Blue Ridge Parkway.

The newlyweds will live in Roanoke, Va., after their wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Erickson-Adams

Teri Lynn Adams and Matthew Blake Erickson were married June 1, 1996 at Riverdale Baptist Church in Roanoke. The Rev. Bob Lanier officiated the double ring ceremony.

A program of music was provided by Joyce White. Maid of honor was Annie Saunders of Roanoke, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Traci Wheeling of Goodview, cousin of the bride, and Wanda Mills of Bedford, friend of the bride. The bride's train was carried by Kyra Wilson of Roanoke, cousin of the bride.

Best man was John Hodges of Rocky Mount, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Collin Boone of Moneta, friend of the groom, and Michael Bacon of Between, Georgia, brother-in-law of the groom.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. The wedding was directed by Debbie Saunders of Roanoke, aunt of the bride, and Regina Bacon of Between, Georgia, sister of the groom.

Following the cer emony, a reception was held in the church Fellowship Hall.

The bride is the daughter of Phyllis Adams of Rocky Mount, and Charles Adams of Hardy. Teri graduated from Franklin County High School and is employed by Wal-Mart in Roanoke.

The groom is the son of Diane Rogers of Loganville, Georgia, and Randall Erickson of Rocky Mount. Matt attended Franklin County High School and is employed by VDOT in Rocky Mount.

After a trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the couple resides in Rocky Mount.

Hutchinson-Boswell

Erin Lee Boswell and Patrick Hutchinson were married April 27, 1996 in Trinity United Methodist Church, McLean, Va. Reverend Steve Rhodes officiated. A reception was held at the Sheraton Reston Hotel, Reston, Va.

The maid of honor was Janet Martin, a sorority sister. Matron of honor was Kim Miller, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kristie Allison, Kathleen Crockett, Ginny Smith, and Kristi Sumpter, all sorority sisters. Flowergirl was Regan Boswell, niece of the bride.

The best man was David Hutchinson, father of the groom. Groomsme n were Wes Warner, ``Obber'' Meehan, Todd Creasey, Brian Treweek, and Ross DeBolt, all friends of the groom. Ushers were John and Brian Boswell, brothers of the bride, and Davey and Jeff Hutchinson, brothers of the groom. Ringbearer was Jake Boswell, nephew of the bride.

The bride's gown was an alencon lace bodice accented with illusion and baby pearls, jewel neckline outlined with baby pearl choker, shear illusion sleeves accented with alencon lace, bottom is shantung taffita and the hem has scalloped alencon lace and baby pearls. It had a cathedral length train. She carried a bouquet of white roses, white lillies, freesia and white heather.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Boswell, Sterling, Va. She is a graduate of Emory and Henry College, Emory, Va., and is employed by Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center, Roanoke, Va.

The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Hutchinson, Salem, Va., is a graduate of Emory and Henry College, Emory, Va. He is employed by Valley Distributing, Salem, Va.

The newlyweds will live in Salem, Va. after the wedding trip to Cancun.

Jackson-Cook

Linda R. Cook and William L. Jackson III were married on July 27, 1996. The couple were joined in marriage at Glorious Church of God in Christ, 1830 Hanover Ave. in Roanoke with Pastor Jacqueline P. Jackson officiating. The reception was held at the church hall. The bride was escorted to the altar by her brother, Thomas Cook. The bride carried a bouquet of cascading gardenias, stephanotis, dendrobium orchids and ivy. The maid of honor was Tonja K. Peirson, friend of the bride. The best man was William L. Jackson, Jr., father of the groom. The groomsmen were Benny T. Cook, Jr., and John Brown. The flower girls were Tanisha Cook, niece of bride, Asia Osby, cousin of bride, and Jalisha Jackson, niece of groom. Ring bearers were Sherkreth Jackson, and Rodney Jackson, brothers of groom. Martha Baxter, aunt of bride, directed the wedding. The bride is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benny Cook, Sr. The bride's grandmother, Mrs. Marie C. Davis, stood up for her. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William L. Jackson, Jr. The bride and groom will enjoy a late honeymoon in the Bahamas. Likens-Everett

Stephanie Michele Likens and Samuel Todd Everett were united in marriage at seven o'clock in the evening on July 27, 1996, at Northminster Presbyterian Church in Roanoke. The Reverend Dr. David Kirk officiated the double ring ceremony. The reception followed in the church fellowship hall.

Miss Karie Likens was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Amy Nicely, friend of bride; Miss Katie Hale, sister of bridegroom; Miss Kimberly Ferrell, Miss Emily Ferrell, Miss Amanda Price, Miss Alison Price, cousins of the bride. Miss Kelly Keith, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl.

Mr. William Everett was his son's best man. The groomsmen were Mr. Kirk Likens, brother of the bride; Dr. Robert Bielawski, uncle of the bridegroom; Mr. Robbie Bielawski, cousin of the bridegroom; Mr. Scott Richmond, Mr. Bobby Leftwich, Mr. Billy Martin, friends of the bridegroom. Master Sean Bielawski, cousin of the bridegroom, was a junior usher. Master Ryan Keith, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer.

The bride wore a white satin gown embellished with beaded battenberg lace. The gown had a victorian neckline with long princess sleeves adorned with lace appliques, along with a fitted basque bodice with lace overlay featuring shimmering sequins and seed pearls. The full skirt fell into an exquisite grand cathedral train with pyramids of battenberg lace cascading down the train. Soft center roses accented the center train. She carried a small nosegay of white sweetheart roses, mini carnations, lilies, stephanotis and plumosa. The flowers were arranged on her mother's bridal bible that was carried twenty-five years ago.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randall T. Likens, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Luther L. Keith and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thurman W. Likens. The bride was graduated from Northside High School and Roanoke College.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Hale of Roanoke and Mr. and Mrs. William T. Everett of Chesapeake, Va. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. Bowman of Bristol, Va., and Mrs. Eunice Farrington of Marion, Va. The bridegroom was graduated from Northside High School.

The wedding was directed by Mrs. Judy Ferrell, aunt of the bride. The guestbooks were attended by Ms. Renee Keith and Miss Jennifer Boyer. Servers were Mrs. Jeni Church, Miss Sara Loope, Miss Lisa Mullins and Miss Paige Whisnant, friends of the bride.

The rehearsal dinner was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Hale, parents of the bridegroom, at La Maison. The bridal showers were hosted by Cave Rock Baptist Church; Mrs. Judy Ferrell; Mrs. Frankie Bielawski, Mrs. Katharine Morgan and Mrs. Gayle McDonald. A bridal dinner was given by Mrs. Phyllis Keith, grandmother of the bride, at the Sheraton Inn.

Virginia Lee Shealor and Tracy Graham McCoy were married July 27, 1996 at the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Blacksburg, Virginia. The Reverend Gary Schroeder officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Shealor of Blacksburg. She is the granddaughter of Virginia Butler of Blacksburg and the late Frank Butler and the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shealor of Blacksburg. Mrs. McCoy is a graduate of Blacksburg High School and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She is employed by Montgomery County Public Schools.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary McCoy of McCoy, Virginia. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence McCoy of McCoy, and the late Cleo McCoy and the late Mr. and Mrs. Alva Albert of McCoy. Mr. McCoy is a graduate of Blacksburg High School, and he attends Radford University.

The bride's cousin, Elizabeth Rocovich of Roanoke, was the maid of honor. Amy Ruppert of McCoy, the groom's sister, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy Shorter of Blacksburg; Karen Hudson and Rebecca Scott of Christiansburg; Melissa Barcellos of Vienna, Virginia; Leslie Hale of Lynchburg; Abby Spada and Deanna Ragnow of Alexandria.

The groom's father served as his best man. Groomsmen were James Shealor, brother of the bride, of Blacksburg; Brad Epperley and Brian Alls of Blacksburg; Eric Ruppert of McCoy; Kevin Scott of Christiansburg; Leonard Gamberg, cousin of the groom, of Laurinburg, North Carolina; and Frank Rocovich, cousin of the bride, of Roanoke. Ringbearers were Jason and Kyle Bourne of Blacksburg.

Ushers were Sean Pratt, brother of the bride, Scott Hines, and Phil Strohecker.

The bride is a daughter of Bryan & Susan Pratt of Roanoke. She is a graduate of Cave Spring High in Roanoke and Longwood College in Farmville. The bride is employed by Bedford Co. Schools. The bridegroom, son of Ann Palmer of Va. Beach, is a graduate of Princess Anne High in Va. Beach and attends St. Leo College. He is employed by Household Credit Services. The newlyweds will live in Lynchburg after the wedding trip to the Virgin Islands.

Powell-Grubb

Ginger Allison Grubb and Stephen McDavid Powell were married July 27, 1996 in Green Street Baptist Church, High Point, North Carolina, with the Reverend C.W. Moss officiating. The reception was held in the church Fellowship Hall.

Matron of honor was Jennifer Clayton, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Janet Biggerstaff, Jan Lowry, Rachel Ottaway, Jill Wilkes, friends; and Melissa Powell, sister of the groom.

Best man was Aubrey Power, father of the groom. Ushers were Rob Biggerstaff, Brian Blake, John Philips, Tim White, friends; and Benny Firestone, fiance of the groom's sister. Guestbook attendants were Angel Wellborn and Denise Garrick.

The bride carried a combination bouquet of lavender and white roses cascading down with stephanotis and ivy.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald T. Grubb of High Point, N.C., and Ms. Rebecca W. Grubb of High Point, N.C. She is a graduate of High Point University and is employed by Dar Ran Furniture Industries.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey C . Powell of Roanoke, Va. He is a graduate of North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C., and is employed by Wachovia Mortgage Company.

The newlyweds will live in High Point, N.C., after their wedding trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Price-Cockram

Denise Gail Cockram and Tommy Wayne Price were united in marriage on July 13, 1996 by Rev. M. Dennis Herman at Peters Creek Church of the Brethren.

Joan Cockram served her sister as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Allison Paige and Becky Metcalf, long time friends of the bride.

Terry Price served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were James and John Price, also the groom's brothers.

The groom's niece and nephew, Elizabeth and Brian Price, served as flower girl and ring bearer. The bride's cousin, Amanda Poff, attended the guestbook.

Wedding music was beautifully provided by Charlene Lester and Estelle Vinyard.

The reception was held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Gary and Jeanette Cockram of Roanoke, Va. She is the granddaughter of Welby and Patsy Cockram and Emmett and Artis Davis, all of Floyd, Va. Denise is a graduate of VWCC and Patrick Henry High School.

The groom is the son of Jane Price and the late, James J. Price of Roanoke, Va. He is the grandson of Maude Furrow of Baton Rouge, La. Tommy is a graduate of Patrick Henry High School. He is employed with Food Lion as a store manager.

Following a cruise to the Bahamas, the couple will make their home in Roanoke.

Roper-Humphries

Annelise Humphries and Leighton Parks Roper, III were united in marriage Saturday, July 27, 1996, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Salem, Virginia.

The Right Reverend A. Health Light officiated the two o'clock ceremony which was followed by a reception at Roanoke Country Club.

Kristen Michele Humphries and Leigh Erin Humphries, sisters of the bride, were the maids of honor, and David Bryham Roper, brother of the groom, served as best man. The groomsman was Yann Sylvain David de Rochefort.

The honorary attendants to the bride and groom included Gina Humphries Keaton, Catherine Burns Davis, Ann Elizabeth Eisman, Karen Marie Streett, Thomas Anderson Bozeman, Mark Peebles Brown, Robert John Pallace, Steven Michael Pili, John Douglas Worden and Craig Webster Wyatt.

The bride, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Howell Humphries of Roanoke, is a graduate of North Cross School and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. The bride is an Account Manager for NMC Homecare.

The groom, son of Mrs. David Randall Dougherty of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, and Mr. Leighton Parks Roper, Jr. of Arlington, Virginia, graduated from the Episcopal High School and the University of Virginia. The groom will attend law school in the fall.

The couple will honeymoon in Bermuda.

Ruff-Meador

Dreams came true for both Cindy L. Meador and Daniel T. Ruff, when they vowed in marriage to stay together forever, July 4th, 1996. The wedding took place at Thrasher Memorial Church in Vinton. Mother of the bride was Sarah Simmons. Father of the bride was Wayne E. Meador. The bridesmaids were Crystal Campbell and Cheree Shaver. Best man was Lynn Meador. The newlyweds reside in Roanoke after their honeymoon at Myrtle Beach.

Schrock-Netzer

Nathalie Netzer and Eric Brian Schrock were married May 22, 1996 in a civil marriage ceremony at the city hall in Heidelberg, Germany.

The reception was held directly following the service at the fraternity house ``Burschenschaft Allemannia'' where the groom is a member.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. George and Dagmar Schramm of Bottrop, Germany, formerly of Roanoke, Va. and Gerhard Netzer of Eisenberg, Germany.

She is a 1991 graduate of Cave Spring High School and is working as an interior decorator in Heidelberg, Germany.

The groom is the son of the late Michael and Gloria Schrock of Bedford, Va. He is a student at Ruprecht-Karls-University in Heidelberg, Germany.

After a wedding trip to Kiel the couple will live in Heidelberg, Germany.

Snyder-Akers

Tammy Carol Akers and Christopher Lynn Snyder were married July 18, 1996, at 6:00 p.m. at The Upper Room Church with Rev. Roger D. Smith officiating. Lydia Akers, mother of the bride, was matron of honor. The bride was escorted by her grandfather, Claude Akers. Barry Snyder, father of the groom, was best man.

The bride is the daughter of Edward Akers of Indiana and Lydia Akers of Roanoke, Va. The groom is the son of Barry Snyder of Roanoke, Va., and Debbie Edwards also of Roanoke.

The newlyweds will live in Camp Pendleton, Calif., until the groom is discharged from the USMC, then will return to Roanoke.

Webster-Garman

Mitzi Lynn Garman and David Cary Webster were married on June 22, 1996 at Bonsack United Methodist Church in Roanoke, Virginia. The ceremony was officiated by the Reverend John Ashley. The reception was held in the fellowship hall.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Clarke Garman. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Cary Webster.

Gail Garman, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Kim Bing-Zaremba, Kristi Doolan, Stephanie Fry, and Stephanie Wheeling, all friends of the bride. The flowergirls were Kayla Doolan and Nicole Petersen, friends of the bride and groom.

Marvin Cary Webster, father of the groom, was the best man. The groomsmen were Terry May, cousin of the groom; Jason Doolan, Adam Petersen, and Leslie Spradlin, all friends of the groom.

The guest book attendant was Sheri Jones, cousin of the bride. Program attendants were Glenda Elliott and Michelle Osborne, friends of the bride. Music for the ceremony was provided by Ann Murray, Jennifer Murray, Jamie Imondo and Joe Gwitt.

Mitzi is a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and Roanoke College. She is a teacher at Hidden Valley Junior High School in Roanoke County. David is a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and attended Virginia Western Community College. He is employed as an electrician for Webster Repair.

Following their honeymoon in Cancun, the newlyweds are living in their new home in Bedford County. The bride and groom would like to thank everyone who helped with the wedding and the reception. Special thanks to their family and friends for making the day very special.

Wimmer-Green

The marriage of Karen Jo Green to Marc Anthony Wimmer took place at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, at First Christian Church in Lynchburg, with Dr. D. L. Warren officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Green. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry B. Wimmer, all of Lynchburg.

Michelle A. Yeatts of Gretna, friend of the bride, was matron of honor and attendants were Sherrie Krantz, sister of the groom, and Jinny Roberts, cousin of the bride, both of Lynchburg; Kimberly Jackson of Glen Allen, Jennifer Cummings of Seymour, Tenn., and Angela Arrington of Amelia, all friends of the bride.

Mr. Wimmer was best man for his son and ushers were Larry Krantz, brother-in-law of the groom, Lemuel Green and Landon Green, brothers of the bride, and Jeffrey Roberts and Jason Roberts, cousins of the bride, all of Lynchburg.

Gary R. Fries Jr. of Virginia Beach, friend of the bride and groom, served as program marshall.

Kandace Krantz, niece of the groom, and William Green, cousin of the bride, both of L ynchburg, were flower girl and ringbearer.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Elks Lodge in Lynchburg.

The bride is a graduate of Heritage High School and received a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Longwood College and a M.Ed. degree in Educational Leadership from Lynchburg College. She is a kindergarten teacher with Lynchburg City Schools.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Heritage High School and the University of South Carolina, where he received a B.A. degree in Chemistry and History. He is a postal carrier with the U.S. Postal Service in Salem.

After a wedding trip to Waikiki, Hawaii, the couple will live in Roanoke.

Winston-Quinn

Irene Spaulding Quinn and Marvin Jenks Winston were married July 20, 1996 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Alexandria, Virginia. A reception followed at the Chart House.

The bride, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Paul Carroll Quinn of Alexandria, graduated from Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School, Washington, D.C.; Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana; and College of William and Mary Graduate School of Education.

The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ryland Addison Winston of Roanoke, graduated from North Cross School, Duke University, and College of William and Mary Graduate School of Business.

The bride's honor attendant was Mary Gnatek Harper of Bethesda, Maryland. Bridesmaids were Kelly Heretick, Douglasville, Georgia, niece of the bride, and Christine Megna, New York, New York.

The groom's father was best man. Groomsmen were Ryland Addison Winston, Jr., Charlotte, North Carolina, brother of the groom, Peter Douglas Lowen, Denver, Colorado, and Alfred Harry Hodson, III, Charlottesville, Virginia.

The couple will reside in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where the groom is employed by Rocco, Inc. as a logistics specialist.
