MAN JUMPS FROM PULASKI BUILDING

A Pulaski man who jumped from the roof of a building Aug. 15 remains in serious condition at a Roanoke hospital.

Mark M. Craig was apparently trying to commit suicide when he fell 60 feet to a parking lot below the Atrium apartment building on North Washington Avenue, police said.

Before he jumped, Craig, 33, walked by and told several people that they would see something if they waited, police said.

Craig struck the pavement head-first, police said. He was transported after the incident by emergency helicopter to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Police said their investigation does not indicate that foul play was involved.
