DRIVING ACCIDENTS CLAIM TWO MEN'S LIVES

Two people were killed in separate traffic accidents in Western Virginia on Friday evening and Saturday morning, according to the Virginia State Police.

Bradley Stevens Lewis, 35, of Route 5, Bedford, was killed at 6:30 p.m. Friday when the 1971 Harley-Davidson motorcycle he was driving rounded a curve on Virginia 638 in northeastern Bedford County and collided head-on with a Chevrolet van, police said.

Lewis was dead at the scene, police said. No charges have been filed.

At 5:15 Saturday morning, a Buchanan County man, Christopher Shawn Stiltner, 21, was killed when the driver of the car in which he was riding lost control of the vehicle on U.S. 460 near Springville in Tazewell County, police said. The car, driven by Russell Hunt, whose address was not available, ran off the road over an embankment, and Stiltner was thrown out, police said.

Stiltner died at the Bluefield (W.Va.) Medical Center. Charges are pending, police said.
