A contest to design a Pulaski County flag will accept entries through November.
A $100 Savings Bond will go to winners in each of three categories: adult, grades 7-12 and kindergarten through grade 6.
The county Board of Supervisors asked the Citizens' Courthouses Exhibits Committee to seek public involvement in the design of a county flag and choice of county colors. Flag entries should reflect the contestant's choice of colors.
Flag designs should be submitted on an 81/2-by-11-inch sheet of unlined white paper. The back of the sheet should have the entrant's name, address, telephone number and category. Students should include their age, grade level and school.
Features in a flag design can contain such items as natural resources; historic features, buildings, monuments or features; the wording "Vision, Excellence, Pride" which appears on the Pulaski County seal; geographic features, or dates pertaining to county history.
A panel of judges will be chosen to select winners in each category. The adoption of a county flag or colors will rest with the Board of Supervisors.
All entries become the property of the county, and must be received by Nov. 30 at either the Pulaski County Public Library in Pulaski or the Free Memorial Public Library in Dublin.
