The Community Christmas Store, a volunteer effort to help needy families from Roanoke County and Salem during the holiday season, is accepting donations of new and used goods.
The store, at 504 Roanoke St. in Salem, will accept donations Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Dec. 5 and 6 from noon to 9 p.m., and Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Donations of new goods only will be accepted Dec. 9, 10 and 11 from 2 until 6 p.m.
The store needs new winter clothing for children (infants through teens) and the elderly, nonperishable food and new toys and gifts. The store also needs holiday decorations in good condition.
Eligible families will have a chance to "shop" for new items as well as used clothing and toys in the store's Second Hand Shop Dec. 13 and 14.
