COLLEGE NOTES NORTH

MICHAEL CARTER of Roanoke was recently named to the dean's list at Freed-Hardeman University in Tennessee. Carter is a senior Bible major at the university.

HEATHER STURM, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis C. Sturm of Roanoke, was recently placed on the honor roll at Lipscomb University in Tennessee for the fall 1996 semester.

Sturm is a graduate of Northside High School and a family relations major.

CHAD CHRISTOPHER SARTINI, son of Mr. and Mrs. V.J. Sartini III of Roanoke, was named to the dean's list at Washington and Lee University for the fall 1996 semester.

GRANT CARTNER, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kent Cartner of Roanoke, was recently elected president of the Freshman Council at Purdue University. The council is the governing body for the freshman dormitory students. He was also named to the dean's list for the fall semester.

Cartner is a graduate of Cave Spring High School.

LAURA WARNER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Warner, has been named to the president's list for the fall semester at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tenn.

Warner is a sophomore accounting major.

ROANOKE COLLEGE recently announced the names of 20 area residents who graduated from the college in December.

Receiving bachelor of business administration degrees from Roanoke are: Tammie M. Bryant, James M. Bullington, Lisa S. Conroy, R. Dawn Dempsey, Terrell W. Martin, Douglas R. Powell and R. Todd Warren.

Others receiving bachelor of business administration degrees are: J. Cherie Eary and Michelle D. McGuire of Salem; Gary L. LaPrad of Vinton, and Annette C. Shaw of Fincastle.

Receiving bachelor of arts degrees from Roanoke are: Mark A. Dearing, Sheryl J. McCoy, Melissa L. Thomas and Scott W. Whittaker.

Others receiving bachelor of arts degrees are: Leslie E. Huffman and Julie A. Parker from Salem, and Brian L. Neal from Troutville.

Receiving bachelor of science degrees from Roanoke are: Scott J. Carlesco and Marcee L. Hufton.
