Elementary fourth-grade teacher Dave Merritt tosses Katey Hauck's

science project, the Apollo Egg USA, off the school roof. Enclosed

in each student's project was an egg. Merritt's class is studying

space flight and how the early modules were designed to land. 2. The

students gathered at 9:30 a.m. to watch their projects touch down;

many eggs broke. One student said, "I learned the more padding

around the egg, the less chance it has of breaking." color.
