2 MEN SOUGHT IN LARCENY

Town police are searching for two men in connection with a grand larceny that occurred at a Blacksburg convenience store Friday afternoon.

At the 7-Eleven store at Draper Road and Roanoke Street, one man distracted the cashier about 4 p.m. while a second man went behind the counter and took a money bag from the safe and an undisclosed amount of cash, said Blacksburg Police Lt. Bruce Bradbery.

The men were still at large Friday about 6 p.m. The preliminary investigation showed the suspects did not use force or a weapon during the theft, which makes the crime a larceny rather than a robbery, Bradbery said.

Earlier this week three men robbed the A&J Quick Stop on Blacksburg's North Main Street. The descriptions of the men involved differ greatly, Bradbery said.
