BOTTOMS, Stanley Delando Jr., 45, of Bedford, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 1997. He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Norman S. Bottoms of Bedford and James Dews Sr. of Roanoke, and grandmother, Ellen Moon Dews. He attended Roanoke City Public Schools and served in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his father, Stanley D. Bottoms Sr., and mother, Irene Bottoms Dews, both of Roanoke; paternal grandmother, Betty Bottoms of Bedford; one sister, Laura Vincent of Roanoke; three brothers, Jonathan Bottoms (Connie) and Jerome Bottoms (Penny), both of Houston, Texas, and Timothy Bottoms of Flagstaff, Ariz.; one uncle, James Dews (Daphne); four aunts, Mary and Elizabeth Dews of Bronx, N.Y., Maxine Bias of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Dorothy Nelms of Bedford; nieces, Jameca Bottoms of Tulsa, Okla., Carisha Jackson of Roanoke, Janae Bottoms and Jasmine Bottoms of Houston, Texas; nephews, Jonathan Vincent, Quentin Jackson, Timothy Brown and Joshua Brown of Roanoke, Joshua Thomas, Jamal Bottoms and Anthony Bottoms of Houston, Texas, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 29, 1997, at 3 p.m., in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1235 Walnut Street, Bedford, with Speaker Douglas Fields officiating. Interment will follow Monday, March 31, at 11 a.m., in the Culpeper National Cemetery. BOWLING, Edward B., 68, of Dublin, died Thursday, March 27, 1997, at Radford Carilion Community Hospital. Born in Franklin County, he was the son of the late James L. and Toka Thomas Bowling. He was a retired contractor. Survivors include his wife, Carol F. Bowling of Dublin; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Teresa Perkey; two grandsons, Jason and Christo pher, all of Allen, Texas; two brothers, Buel M. and Ottis Bowling, both of Ferrum; four sisters, Mrs. Lovelene Hensley of Martinsville, Mrs. Irene Thomason of Collinsville, Mrs. Nora Martin of Ferrum, and Mrs. Victoria Kirby of Radford. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 554, Roanoke, Va. 24003. DUTY, Julia Bolden, 70, of Dublin, passed away Friday, March 28, 1997, at Carilion Radford Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Engram Lovas Duty. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Betty L. Haire of Stafford; three sisters, Mary Bailey, Louden, Tenn., Dovie Stillwell of Pulaski, and Lucy McDaniel of Radford; one brother, Harold Bolden of Hartsv ille, S.C.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Monday, March 31, 1997, at 11 a.m. in the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel in Dublin with the Rev. Dale Akers officiating. JUDD, Helen May, (``Nana''), 92, of Roanoke, died Friday, March 28, 1997. Helen was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Gwendolyn (Gwen) C. Judd, Roanoke; her grandchildren, Edward R. Judd, III, Florida, Wayne Judd, Lynn J. Garnett, Wendy J. Pauley, David Judd, all of Roanoke; her great-grandchildren, Kara, Tyler, and Brandon Garnett, Morgan Judd; her sister, Mae Hoban, New York; her son, Edward R. Judd, Jr., Ric hmond. LUNSFORD, Beulah Humphries, 68, of Glasgow, died Friday, March 28, 1997, at her residence. Mrs. Lunsford was born on August 14, 1928 in Rockbridge County, and was a daughter of the late Al Humphries and Edna Madison Humphries. She was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church and the church choir. Mrs. Lunsford is survived by her husband, Price Lunsford Jr., Glasgow; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vickey and Gene McDaniel, Glasgow, Connie and Robert Walker, Bluefield, W.Va.; one sister, Katherine Potter, Lexington; five grandchildren, Robert Daniel Mutispaugh, Glasgow, Angela C. Shrewsbury, Rock, W.Va., Chad Earl McDaniel, Glasgow, Lori A. Burris, Wytheville, Michelle L. Walker, Bluefield, W.Va.; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 31, 1997, at 3 p.m. at the Glasgow Baptist Church, Glasgow, with Rev. William M. Thomas officiating, with burial to follow in the Glasgow Cemetery. MARTIN, Henry D., 82, of Jefferson Avenue, Pulaski, died Thursday afternoon, March 27, 1997, at his home. He was the son of the late Taylor and Cor a Martin. He was born in Pulaski on June 1, 1914. He was a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia School of Pharmacy. He was co-owner of Martin's Pharmacy for 45 years. He was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church, Pulaski, a former member of the Rotary Club, Elks Club, Masons and Jaycees. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth B. Martin, Pulaski; son, Taylor Martin, Dublin; brother, J. Ralph Martin, Pulaski; nieces, Druscilla M. Henderson, Pulaski, Susan M. Hawkins, Hilton Head, S.C., Suzanne Nelson, Atlanta, Ga. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 29, 1997, at 2 p.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel, Pulaski, with the Rev. Steven Emory officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. MINTER, Edward Jesse, 86, of Roanoke, died Friday, March 28, 1997. He was born November 5, 1910. Surviving is his wife, Marie Hawley Minter; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Glenna Minter, Roanoke; one granddaughter, Cindy Burks; one great-grandson, Steven Burks; two great-granddaughters, Michelle Burks, ""Nikki"" Burks, all of Roanoke; one brother, Len Minter; two sisters, Myrtle Thomas, Thaxton, Ida Watts, Roanoke. Services will at Oakey's South Chapel, 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 1997. The Rev. Woodrow Minnix, The Rev. C. B. Fulton, The Rev. Chester Lykins and The Rev. James Wingfield will officiate. STUMP, Dewey Roosevelt, 82, of Franklin Co., died Thursday, March 27, 1997. He had worked at Norfork & Western Railroad for many years and went on to work and retire as a Food Service Manager. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor B. Stum p. Survivors include his daughter, Carol S. McConnell, Greensboro, N.C.; his sons, Kenny B. Stump and David L. Stump, Greensboro, N.C.; grandchildren, Jack and Julie McConnell, Brad and Katie Stump; brothers and sisters-in-laws, James Sylvester and Florence Stump, Howard Lewis and Christine Stump, Sanford Wayne and Jean Stump. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 1997 at 12 noon at the Sherwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Kirk A. Ballin officiating. The family received friends on Friday at the John M.
