Barnard birth

Randy and Melissa Barnard are proud to announce the birth of their son, Jacob Connor Barn ard. Jacob was born on Sunday, March 23, 1997, at 1:04 p.m. in Community Hospital. He weighed 5 lbs., 103/4 ozs. and was 191/2 inches long. His grandparents are Willard and Harriett Barnard, Mike and Janie Layman, and Brad and Debby Grose. The attending physician was Dr. Vermillion. A special thanks to nurses Claudia, Stephanie, and Cindy, and to Dr. Falls and Katie for their outstanding care

Basham birth

Taylor McKinley Basham was born March 5, 1997, at 6:40 p.m. at Lewis-Gale Hospital. She weighed 6 lbs., 14 ozs. , and was 19 inches long. Her proud parents are Traci and Gregg Basham of Salem. Grandparents are Don and Betty Gilley of Salem and Harry and Shirley Basham of Roanoke.

Special thanks to Dr. Thomas Winn and Nurse Mary Jane Shirley for making our delivery a wonderful experience. We would also like to thank our family and friends for all of the love and support

Douglas-Jackson birth

Alexander Douglas Jackson was born February 28, 1997 at 10:33 p.m. at Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg, Va. He weighed 7 lbs., 10 oz. and was 20 1/2 inches long. His proud parents are Dr. Jo anne S. Douglas and Stephen W. Jackson. He has one sister, Emily, age 5. His grandparents are Dallas Douglas of Roanoke, Virginia, and Albert and Eunice Jackson of Fayetteville, N.CHaynes birth

On February 6, 1997 at 2:40 p.m. Savannah Marie Haynes traveled from Heaven on the wings of an angel to the waiting arms of her Mommy and Daddy. Savannah weighed 8 lbs., 11 ozs. and was 21 inches long. Her very proud parents are Luke and Stacie Haynes of Christiansburg. Savannah's grandparents are Steve and Sharon Spradlin of Blacksburg and Paul and Betty Haynes of Christiansburg. Maternal great-grandparents are Sam and Martha Huff of Blacksburg, Conston Spradlin of Christiansburg and Howard Spradlin, who is watching over Savannah from his mansion in Heaven. Paternal great-grandparents are Ruth Haynes of Christiansburg, the late Paul M. Haynes, Beulah Hudson of Roanoke, and the late Elmer Downey. Savannah is also the great-great-granddaughter of Mrs. Pearlie Huff of Blacksburg.

Special thanks to Dr. James Weston for his expertise and especially to L & D nurse Sandy Lundy for her encouragement and support. We couldn't have done it without you both!! Also, a big thank you to all the nurses in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum at Radford Community Hospital for their kindness.

Above all we thank ou r Mighty God for blessing us with our precious little girl!! God is so Good!!

Likens birth

Taylor Michael Likens was born March 28, 1997, at 5:58 p.m. in Lewis-Gale Hospital. He weighed 9 lbs., 14 ozs. His proud parents are Michael and Denise Likens. His paternal grandparents are Warren and Trudie Likens. Maternal grandparents are Alfred and Donna Harris.
