JERRY LEE WOODSON

{LEAD} Jerry Lee Woodson, 52, died Saturday, May 28, 1994, in Oak Hill Hospital, Oak Hill, W.Va., following a heart attack.

Mr. Woodson was born in Lochgelly, W.Va., on Aug. 28, 1941. He retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service, where he received the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal (5 awards), National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Silver Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Leaf. He was currently employed by AT&T, N.C.R. division in Chesapeake.

{REST} Mr. Woodson was preceded in death by his parents, Charles R. and Garnet Blake Woodson; and by one brother, Charles R. (Toby) Woodson.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Jenkins Woodson; a daughter, Renee Kite; two sons, Jerry Scott Woodson and Steven Lee Woodson, all of Virginia Beach; a sister, Carol J. Chambers of Brook Park, Ohio; and brother, Larry Woodson of Willowick, Ohio; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill, W.Va. at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 1994, by the Rev. Howard Miller. Burial was at Gethsemene Memorial Gardens in Oak Hill. Military graveside rites were performed by a unit from Fort Knox, U.S. Army.
