GENE R. ANSELL

{LEAD} Gene Raymond Ansell, 57, of the 800 block of DeKalb Ave., a retired auto mechanic and painter, died June 16, 1994, in his home.

He was a native of Norfolk and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth D. and Oscar D. Ansell; and a brother, Russell D. Ansell.

{REST} He is survived by three sisters, Peggy A. White of Galesburg, Ill., Shirley Ann Lotter of Norfolk, Va., and a twin sister, June A. ``Rae'' Winters of Portsmouth.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Ashbury United Methodist Church, 4608 Deep Creek Blvd., Portsmouth, by the Rev. Milford Rollins. Snelling Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church.
