CHARLES PALMQUIST

{LEAD} Charles ``Al'' Palmquist, 76, died Wednesday, June 15, 1994.

Mr. Palmquist was born in Laramie, Wyo., and graduated from Purdue University. He served his country with the Navy during WWII, attaining the rank of Lt. Commander. Mr. Palmquist was a pioneer in television broadcasting, working for Columbia Broadcasting Systems, N.Y.

{REST} Surviving is his wife, Elizabeth ``Betty'' Palmquist, and his four daughters, Janet Patterson of Dallas, Texas, Susan Bussey of Oceanside, Calif., Martha Palmquist of Carlsbad, Calif., and Megan Standing of Virginia Beach; and eight grandchildren.

Friends are creating a ``park'' area with trees and benches as a living memorial to Al at Red Mill Elementary School. Donations can be sent to the school on Sandbridge Road. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road, will be handling the arrangements.
