INVESTIGATORS SEEK WOMAN

{LEAD} Investigators are looking for a woman who administered aid to a man fatally burned in an explosion that ripped through his home Friday morning.

Kevin Fitzpatrick, 32, of the 1000 block of Old Dam Neck Road suffered severe burns over 90 percent of his body. Fitzpatrick died Sunday evening at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

{REST} Chase Sargent, spokesman for the Virginia Beach Fire Department, said the woman who identified herself as a nurse may have been told information by Fitzpatrick about the fire.

``It is believed he may have made statements to her that will aid us in the investigation,'' Sargent said.

Sargent said investigators have determined that the fire started accidentally when a propane container was taken into the house. The gas was ignited in an unknown way and caused the explosion, Sargent said.

Sargent asked that anyone with information about the woman to call Mike Mullins at 427-3922.
