JAMES G. FONVILLE JR.

{LEAD} James Guy Fonville Jr., of the 1900 block of Robert Hall Blvd., a retired forklift operator, died June 22, 1994, in his home.

Mr. Fonville was born in New Bern, N.C., and was retired from Colonial Stores Warehouse, Norfolk. He was a member of First Baptist Church Crestwood in Chesapeake.

{REST} Survivors include his wife, Ella Lucy Fonville; six daughters, Ella M. Solomon and Trina F. Jenkins of Norfolk, Brenda J. Kelly, Lillian Langston and Cheryl Ricks of Portsmouth, and Marilyn L. Fonville of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one son, James G. Fonville III of Newport News; his mother, Nancy Fonville of Raleigh, N.C.; three sisters, Irene Rhodes and Lucille Bryant of New York and Marie Fonville of Raleigh; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church Crestwood by the Rev. Willie Samuels. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The body will be in church Saturday morning at 11 a.m. Fitchett Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
