HANSON H. HATCHER

Hanson H. Hatcher of the 5600 block of Larry Ave., went to be with the Lord on July 6, 1994.

He was born in Galivants Ferry, S.C., and was a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was 71.

Mr. Hatcher was a Navy veteran of World War II, retired as a chief petty officer after 26 years of service. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Branch 60. For the past 25 years Mr. Hatcher had been an active member of the Virginia Beach Community Chapel.

He was the loving husband of his wife of 41 years, Margaret Ann Shannon Hatcher. He is also survived by one daughter, Brenda H. Cowan of Virginia Beach; four sons, H. Reginald Hatcher of Greensboro, N.C., Glenn M. Hatcher, R. Wayne Hatcher and Dean A. Hatcher, all of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Ollie B. McCall of Blenheim, S.C., and Louise A. Parnell of Hartsville, S.C.; one brother, Archie Lee Hatcher of Charleston, S.C.; eight grandchildren, Tia R. Hatcher of Greensboro, Nathan, Erin, Ryan and Caleb Hatcher, Daniel, Stephen and Mitchell Cowan, all of Virginia Beach.

A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, July 8, at 11 a.m. in Virginia Beach Community Chapel, 1261 Laskin Road, by the Rev. Harold Burchett. A graveside committal service will follow at 12:30 p.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk.

Friends may join the family at the funeral home for visitation today between 7 and 9 p.m. and at the residence at other times.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Norfolk Christian Schools, 255 Thole St., Norfolk, Va. 23505.
