HAZEL H. BELL

Hazel Humphries Bell of the 5800 block of Blackwater Road, a retired teacher, died July 2, 1994 in her home.

Mrs. Bell was born in Princess Anne County and was the widow of Jesse F. Bell. She retired from the Virginia Beach School System in 1972. She was a member of New Oak Grove Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, its Senior Choir and taught Sunday School there. She was a member of Retired Teachers Association; Senior Choir of Little Piney Grove Baptist Church; and field worker, Roanoke Missionary in North Carolina. She was a graduate of Elizabeth City University.

Survivors include four stepdaughters, Lily B. Cherry, Bessie B. Bell, Brenda H. Bell, all of Virginia Beach, and Edna B. Vincent of Chesapeake; three stepsons, Fred H. Bell Sr., David L. Bell and Merlin A. Bell, all of Virginia Beach; one sister, Mary Robinson of West Milford, N.J.; 19 stepgrandchildren; and 20 stepgreat-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in New Oak Grove Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, by Dr. O.L. Cromwell II. Burial will be in Colonial Grove Cemetery, Virginia Beach. Pretlow & Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake, is handling arrangements.
