BLUEFISH RULES IN EFFECT JULY 15

The Division of Marine Fisheries has announced that the following regulations affecting the catching of bluefish will take effect Friday, July 15, at 12:01 a.m.:

No one may possess bluefish less that 12 inches in length taken by hook and line.

No one may possess more than 20 bluefish taken in one day by hook and line.

A commercial harvest quota of 3,514,713 pounds of bluefish is established for North Carolina for 1994 in accordance with the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission bluefish plan. Bluefish season will be closed when the quota is met.
