MARY F. JENNINGS

Mary Lavenia Felton Jennings, homemaker and the mother of four good kids, died Saturday, July 9, 1994.

During World War II, she was a first aid nurse for the Office of Civil Defense in Norfolk County, Va. Mrs. Jennings was the wife of John Bennie Jennings Sr., and the daughter of the late Charlie Felton and Mary Venia Pierce Felton. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Viola Felton Randall Jackson and Lizzie Mae Felton Bence, and a grandchild, John Wesley Jennings.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mary J. Reitelbach of Chesapeake and Linda J. Morrison of Portsmouth; two sons, J. Bennie Jennings Jr. of Chesapeake and William Felton Jennings of Elm City, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. Steven Edwards at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
