TEAMS FROM OLIVE BRANCH, CHARLES PEETE ADVANCE

Teams from Charles Peete and Olive Branch have moved into the championship finals of two of the District 6 Little League tournaments.

In the Junior baseball tournament at Wilson, Charles Peete posted a pair of victories to move into the final from the winners bracket in games through Monday night.

Charles Peete beat Cradock in its opener and followed with an 8-0 victory over Olive Branch Saturday.

Charles Peete could wrap up the Junior crown with a victory over Olive Branch. A loss would necessitate a second meeting between the two teams.

Olive Branch won in the losers bracket Monday night with a 15-14 victory over Wilson.

In earlier games, Cradock bowed out with losses to Charles Peete and Wilson, sandwiched around a victory over Cavalier Manor. Cavalier Manor dropped games to Olive Branch and Cradock. Wilson lost to Olive Branch, defeated Cradock and then fell to Olive Branch Monday.

Olive Branch topped Cavalier Manor and Wilson before losing to Charles Peete to fall into the losers bracket. Olive Branch gained the final with its Monday victory.

In the Senior Division at Wilson, Olive Branch gained the championship round with wins over Wilson, Cradock and Charles Peete. Olive Branch bested Charles Peete, 16-1, Saturday to move into the final.

Charles Peete topped Cavalier Manor, bowed to Olive Branch and won the losers bracket by defeating Wilson Monday night, 10-4.

Earlier, Cavalier Manor bowed out with losses to Charles Peete and Wilson. Cradock lost to Olive Branch and Wilson. Wilson posted wins over Cavalier Manor and Cradock after an opening loss to Olive Branch. Wilson was eliminated by its Monday loss to Charles Peete.

A single win would produce a title for Olive Branch. Charles Peete needed a pair of victories to capture the championship.

The Major Little League tournament at the Driver Field in Bennetts Creek got underway on Saturday with Olive Branch Blue edging Charles Peete, 1-0; Churchland thumping Cradock, 10-0; Bennetts Creek defeating Wilson, 8-5; and Olive Branch Gold nipping Cavalier Manor, 5-4.

In the second round of the winners bracket Monday, Churchland defeated Olive Branch Blue, 5-2, and Bennetts Creek edged Olive Branch Gold, 3-1.

In Major Little League softball at Driver, Bennetts Creek downed Olive Branch, 5-4, and Cradock claimed a forfeit win over Cavalier Manor in the opening round. Bennetts Creek moved into the final of the winners bracket by downing Wilson Monday, 32-10. Cradock met Western Branch in the other winners bracket semifinal.

In the losers bracket, Olive Branch was slated to meet the Cradock-Western Branch loser and Cavalier Manor was scheduled to face Wilson.

In Senior Little League softball, also at the Driver complex, Olive Branch won a second-round game over Western Branch Monday, 7-6. Western Branch had a first-round bye, and Olive Branch advanced with a win over Churchland.

In other first-round games, Cradock edged Cavalier Manor, 15-14, and Bennetts Creek blasted Wilson, 21-0, Saturday. by CNB
