JAMES M. CANADY SR.

James Marvin Canady Sr., 58, of the first block of Oakcrest St., a retired carpenter, died July 13, 1994, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mr. Canady was a native of Portsmouth. He was a member of the Lost Cord Club.

Survivors include his wife, Renva M. Canady; one daughter, Wendy Walters; three sons, James M. Canady Jr., Billy Canady and Luke Dwayne Canady; and two sisters, Marie Williams and Elizabeth Williams, all of Portsmouth; five brothers, Luke Canady, Corin Canady, Eugene Canady, William Canady, all of Portsmouth, and Raymond Stoklasa of West Virginia; and six grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Philip J. Parker. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
