On Wednesday, June 29, at 8:30p.m., a man entered the Ritz Camera store at North Military Highway and Poplar Hall Drive.

He asked to see a camera, but when a clerk turned away, the robber pointed an automatic handgun at him and demanded three Panasonic camcorders and three Nikon 8mm camcorders.

The robber placed the items in a black nylon bag and fled.

Police believe that on Tuesday, July 5, the same suspect struck again, robbing the Rentronics store at 6202 N. Military Highway at 1:20p.m.

He took seven watches and money.

On June 12, about 11:30 p.m., police were called to Turf and Garden in the 2000 block of Campostella Road when a burglar alarm was activated.

The business had been broken into, and several gas blowers, string trimmers and hedge trimmers were stolen. All of the items were red and were manufactured by either Maruyama or Shindaiwa.

The total loss was estimated at $1,500.

VIRGINIA BEACH

Police need help identifying two youths who were videotaped stealing a Yamaha Wave Runner and may be responsible for the theft of two others.

On Monday, July 4, about 7 a.m., a security camera filmed two young men stealing the Wave Runner from a pier behind Henry's Seafood Restaurant in the 3300 block of Shore Drive.

One of the men left on the Wave Runner, and the other is believed to have left in a car.

That same morning, two other Yamaha Wave Runners were stolen from the 500 block of Fishermans Bend in the Harbour Point section.

Investigators believe the Wave Runners were used for joy riding and then abandoned.

On Monday, May 2, about 2:45 p.m., a man entered the First Union Bank branch on Virginia Beach Boulevard near Lynnhaven Road and robbed a teller at gunpoint.
