STEVEN R. ATKINS

Steven R. Atkins, 34, of the 1100 block of Culpepper St., a security officer, died July 15, 1994, in Norfolk.

Mr. Atkins was born in Norfolk. He had retired from the Virginia Beach School System. He was a member of New Hope United Church of Christ and was an Army veteran of the peace time service. He was the son of the late Moses Atkins Sr. and Mrs. Martha Atkins of Norfolk.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Martha A. Atkins of Norfolk; one brother, Moses Atkins Jr. of Portsmouth; one sister, Brenda Atkins Holloway of Virginia Beach; a brother-in-law, James Holloway Jr. of Virginia Beach; seven aunts, four uncles and a host of relatives and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in New Hope United Church of Christ, 145 E. Liberty St., by the Rev. James W. Anderson. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. A family wake will be held in Fitchett Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends at the Berkley Neighborhood Center on S. Main St., following the interment.
