Catherine E. Davenport, 81, died July 31, 1994, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mrs. Davenport was born in Norfolk and was the widow of William J. Davenport. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Catherine ``Kay'' L. Gates of Virginia Beach; a sister, Mary Halbleib Taylor of Virginia Beach; a brother, Thomas Halbleib of Norfolk; two grandchildren, Michael Vincent Gates and Jason Patrick Gates, both of Virginia Beach; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Christ the King Catholic Church by the Rev. Joseph P. Lehman. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, where visitation will follow until 8:30 p.m. Donations may be made to the Leukemia Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
