THOMAS MCCOY

Thomas ``Mac'' McCoy, 78, died Aug. 11, 1994, in Virginia Beach.

Mr. McCoy was born in Norfolk and was a Protestant. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a chief petty officer after 22 years of service, as an aircraft mechanic and machinist. He also retired from Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters as chief engineer and was a former employee of the Public Works Center in Norfolk. He was a veteran of World War II and Korea, a member of Fleet Reserve Association Branch (NU)60, Veterans of Foreign Wars Branch (NU)3160 Ocean View and the Portland Reunion Association.

Survivors include his wife, Henrietta Elizabeth McCoy; two daughters, Shelia Smith of Texas and Sharon McLachlan of California; a stepson, Roy L. Murden Jr. of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Virginia Campbell of Norfolk, Margaret Hart of Littleton, Colo., and Helen Medzious of Lakeland, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters or to the American Cancer Society.
