LLEWELLYN DANIELS

Llewellyn ``Sonny Boy'' Daniels, 61, died Saturday, August 20 at the home of his daughter in Wanchese. Mr. Daniels was born in Wanchese, N.C., and was a commercial fisherman and a chief electrician in the Merchant Marines. He was former owner and operator of Crab Slough Seafood Company in Wanchese, an early pioneer of Dare County Parks and Recreation, a veteran of ``Operation Desert Storm'' and Somalia. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church. Mr. Daniels was the son of the late Llewellyn and Vera Midgett Daniels and the wife of Edith Creef Daniels of Wanchese.

Besides his wife, Mr. Daniels is survived by one son, Charles Creef of Pensacola, Fla.; one daughter, Armelle D. Minton of Wanchese; two sisters, Bebe D. Tillett and Myra D. Thompson both of Wanchese; four brothers, Jimmy T. Daniels, Dixie W. Daniels, and Bobby L. Daniels, all of Wanchese, and Llewellyn Midgett of Wilmington, N.C; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Nancy Adkins of Norfolk, Va., nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 22, at the Wanchese Assembly of God at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Charles Etheridge. Graveside services will take place in the Cudworth Cemetery in Wanchese. Family will receive friends at Twiford's Colony Chapel on Sunday, August 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. and at the home of F.C. and Armelle Minton on Sea Farer Court in Wanchese. Family requests that donations be made to Outer Banks Cancer Support Group. Twiford's Colony Chapel is in charge of these arrangements.
