Alma Arrington Rowe, 69, of the 1000 block of Memorial Drive, died Aug. 24, 1994, in her residence.
Mrs. Rowe was born in Halifax County, N.C. She was a retired schoolteacher with Hertford County public schools, owner and operator of the Inside & Out decorating business and was an agent with Martin Realty Co. She was a member of Ahoskie First Baptist Church and Roanoke Chowan Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and former member of Ahoskie Garden Club and Ahoskie Woman's Club.
Survivors include her husband, Robert L. Rowe, Sr.; two daughters, Rendy R. King of Kitty Hawk, N.C., and Freda R. Ballard of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; a son, Robert L. Rowe, Jr., of Ahoskie; three sisters, Evelyn Harris of Hollister, N.C., Mary Johnston of Rocky Mount, N.C., and Linda Satterfield of Wilmington, N.C.; two brothers, Samuel Arrington of Raleigh, N.C., and Robert Arrington Jr., of Hollister, N.C.; and grandchildren, Mark and Lori King of Kitty Hawk, N.C., Dave, Brian and Jason Thrower of Charlotte, N.C., and Blair and Zachery Rowe of Ahoskie.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ahoskie First Baptist Church by Dr. Jesse Croom. Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, is handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Roanoke Chowan Hospice, P.O. Box 272, Ahoskie, N.C. 27910, or to the Ahoskie Rescue Squad, 27910.
