EUGENE H. BRYANT

Eugene Haywood ``Bama-Lam'' Bryant, 65, of the 600 block of Newport Ave., died Aug. 22, 1994, in Lafayette Villa Convalescent Center.

He was born in Norfolk and had been employed in construction with the Tidewater Laborers Union. Mr. Bryant's early Christian experience began at Shiloh Baptist Church and in recent years he attended New Calvary Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and the widower of Helen A. Bryant.

Survivors include two daughters, Lydia M. Gill of New York and Nina M. Ricks of Norfolk; a son, the Rev. Eugene H. Bryant of San Jose, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Monday at Riddick Funeral Service, 1225 Norview Ave., by the Rev. Dr. Rufus Jackson Sr. Burial will be in Hampton National Cemetery. Viewing will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will be Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. and also at 1433 Lead St., Apt. B, the home of Karen R. Williams. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
