WELCOME WAS MEMORABLE, HELPFUL

My husband, Capt. J.F. Boland, Commander, Naval Base, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and I are grateful to everyone who participated in Operation Sincere Welcome.

Our evacuation from Guantanamo Bay was very painful, as we left our loved ones.

However, our first experience stateside, in the arms of Operation Sincere Welcome, was not only heartwarming but also very helpful.

This positive first step in Hampton Roads will - it is reasonable to hope - ease the way as we establish ourselves stateside over the next few weeks.

Our Gitmo families will never forget the people of Hampton Roads.
