TAKE CARE OF AMERICANS FIRST

Our government says we should allow 20,000 Cubans into the United States each year.

At the same time, our representatives are fighting in the House, Senate and White House for a health-care reform that, in concept, is supposed to cover everyone. But reform's outcome is uncertain.

Those 20,000 immigrants will receive full health care, welfare and any and all public assistance available, while struggling Americans and all the other immigrants who over the years have properly come here are pushed aside to make room for a hard-pressed people fleeing a dictatorship.

Working together for change is something the American people should consider when it's time to vote.

The pride in America doesn't come only when bombs are bursting in air.

It comes, or it will come, when we can and do take care of our own.

For example: take 20,000 homeless off the streets every year. It is time Americans came first.
