John Thompson Potts Sr., 80, of the 5600 block of Tidewater Drive, a retired scale mechanic, died Sept. 16, 1994, in DePaul Hospital.
Mr. Potts was born in Marietta, Ga. He had retired from Jack H. Moye Co.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Johnson Potts of Norfolk; a daughter, Julia Kirkley of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; two stepdaughters, Sandra T. Pierce and Pamela Ames, both of Chesapeake; a son, John T. Potts Jr. of Crownsville, Md.; a stepson, William H. Thacker of Norfolk; two sisters, Dorothy Lavendol of Bayonet Point, Fla., and Margie Durden of Marietta, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel.
