MARY R. WARRINGTON

Mary Ritter Warrington, 79, of the 100 block of Roanoke Ave., died unexpectedly late Monday afternoon at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

A native of Portsmouth, Va., born March 19, 1915, Mrs. Warrington was the daughter of the late Columbus W. and Effie Pope Ritter. She was a past worthy matron of the Eastern Star, Plymouth Chapter (NU)95, O.E.S., a member of the Greenville Shrine (NU)7, W.S.O.J., and the Washington County Hospital Auxiliary. She was active in the United Methodist Women and was a member of the Plymouth United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Burt Warrington of the home; Tommy Ritter Warrington of Sterling Park, Va., and John L. Warrington of Beaufort, N.C.; two sisters, Betsy King of Portsmouth and Margaret Sanderlin of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Plymouth United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Oliver and the Rev. Ellis Bedsworth officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Plymouth United Methodist Church Memorial Fund and to the American Heart Fund Association, c/o Ruby Porter, 1889 Albemarle Beach Road, Roper, N.C. 27970.
