BRANCHAUD LEADS LADIES LEAGUE TO WIN

Mary Branchaud of Al Smith's Repairs Body Shop fired a 135 game and a 352 series to pace the Suffolk Tuesday Night Ladies Bowling League this past week.

Branchaud's heroics helped Al Smith's to a 3-1 win over Mike Duman. Connie Insley had a 330 and Denise Carrow added a 305 as Suffolk Alignment upset league leading G.P. Jackson, 3-1, although Peggy Cornett turned in a 327 for the Jacksons.

Morris & Piland trimmed Starr Motors, 3-1, behind the bowling of Margie Bleiler who registered a 323. And Suffolk Glass blanked Ocean Threads, 4-0, as Louise Brinkley rolled a 303. Karen Smith shot a 304 for the losers.

G.P. Jackson leads with an 11-5 record while Suffolk Alignment and Starr Motors are tied with 9-7 marks. Morris & Piland, Al Smith and Suffolk Glass are all tied for fourth with 8-8 showings. Others are Ocean Threads, 6-10, and Mike Duman, 5-11.

In action the week before, Jenny Holleman had the league's high game of 142 as G.P. Jackson edged Starr Motors, 3-1. Anita Joyce of Starr Motors fired the night's high series of 357.

Insley scored a 340 to lead Suffolk Alignment to a 4-0 shutout over Morris & Piland. Frances Wabranburg marked up a 309 as Mike Duman nipped Suffolk Glass, 3-1. And Ocean Threads decisioned Al Smith's Repairs and Body Shop, 3-1.

OVER AT FRANKLIN BOWL, Don and Lynn Blythe captured the Scotch Doubles with a 685 series. by CNB
