WILLIAM ADAMS LINDNER

BMC William Adams Lindner U.S. Navy Ret., 72, of the 300 block of East Farmington Road, died September 29, 1994, in Arlington, VA.

Mr. Lindner was born in Mineola, New York. He was a member of Foundry United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach. After retiring from the U.S. Navy as a WWII Veteran with 20 years of service, Mr. Lindner worked for Q.E.D. Systems as a Technical Engineer for 15 years. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association (NU)60, the American Legion, the V.F.W., and the D.A.V. Mr. Lindner was the Guadalcanal campaign Veterans State Representative, the former USS President Adams reunion APA 19 director; he was promoted to Vice-President of the North Eastern Division Guadalcanal Reunions, past President of the Point of Woods Civic League, past Lay Leader of the Church where he was also on the Administration Board. Mr. Lindner continued his education while attending T.C.C. in Virginia Beach.

Survivors include his wife, Della Ann Lindner of Virginia Beach, a son, William A. Lindner, Jr. of Brandon, Fla.; a sister, Joan Zinn of Sanford, Fla.; 2 grandsons, Adam Allen and Ronald Shane, and several nieces and nephews.

A church service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday October 3, 1994, in Foundry United Methodist Church by Rev. James L. Mahaffey. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

There will be a visitation today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Foundry United Methodist Church at 2801 Virginia Beach Blvd. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel will be handling the arrangements.
