Regarding the clamorous headline about Bishop Sullivan's latest intervention at Regent University (Oct. 4): Since Jesus Christ instituted the church more than 2,000 years ago, it has been flailed by constant persecution and is extremely experienced in self-defense, as well as being divinely protected.
Recent attacks are coming from within the hierarchy. We have a perfect example of this kind of treachery from the lips of Bishop Sullivan defying Vatican teaching, the Scriptures and clean-minded students with his distorted views on homosexuality
I am a distressed Catholic trapped in the notorious Richmond Diocese. Doubtless there are many who suffer as I do for the damaging propaganda which has infiltrated parishes and homes.
