Charles W. Vincent, a Virginia Beach School Board member who
faces criminal ethics charges and inquiries about a doctorate
degree, did not use the degree to qualify for his job as an
education specialist and counselor with the U.S. Army at Fort Story.
An Army investigation into whether Vincent made a false statement
about his degree is ongoing, an Army spokeswoman said. Due to an
editing error, a story Friday contained incorrect information.
Hampton University running back Terry Ricks was mistakenly
identified as teammate Lamonte Still in a photo caption on Friday's
Sports front.
The local chapter of the National Greyhound Adoption Program will
have its fall reunion and picnic from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at
Woodstock Park, Shelter No. 4, on Providence Road in Virginia Beach.
A Metro brief in Thursday's paper had the wrong day.
