ALBERT EDWARDS SR.

On Tuesday, Oct. 11, 1994, at approximately 6:20 a.m., Albert Edwards Sr., went to sleep never to awake again on this side. Not even a Good-bye, Daddy! We love you, we're already missing you, but God, He knows best.

Mr. Edwards resided in the 1300 block of Transylvania Ave., and was a retired welder from Lone Star Co. He was born in Williamston, N.C., son of the late Rosa and Mark Edwards.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Edwards; two daughters, Josephine Edwards and Hattie F. Burwell and a son, Albert Lee Edwards Jr., all of Chesapeake; five sisters, Laura Allen of Philadelphia, Christine Gardner, Naomi Wilkerson and Mary Alice Roberts, all of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Anna Mae Williams of Williamston, N.C.; two brothers, Rudolph Edwards of Chesapeake and Joseph B. Edwrds of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two grandsons, Trenell J. Edwrd and Jason L. Edwards, both of Chesapeake; son-in-law, Jasper E. Burwell of Chesapeake; daughter-in-law, Terry Edwards of Chesapeake; adopted brother and sister, Clarence and Marie Highsmith of Williamston; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, 2899 Welcome Road, Chesapeake, by Dr. Donald Taylor. Burial will be in Manson Cemetery, Williamston. Family and friends will assemble at 1300 Transylvania Ave. at 10 a.m. Monday for the funeral processional to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service, Norfolk, is in charge.
