Magda A. Ratajski, vice president of public relations for Norfolk Southern Corp. has been appointed chairman of the Norfolk Area Marketing Advisory Committee, an advisory group to Norfolk City Manager James B. Oliver Jr.

Ratajski, who had served as the committee's vice chairman, has been involved in numerous civic and business organizations, including a White House appointment to the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Centennial Commission, executive advisory council to the College of Business and Public Administration at Old Dominion University, and the boards of directors of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce and WHRO Public Television and Radio. by CNB
