HEART ATTACK KILLS WRECK VICTIM

A man suffered a fatal heart attack after his car was involved in a series of accidents involving 14 cars Wednesday on Interstate 64 just east of the Chesapeake Boulevard exit.

The accidents occurred at about 11:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes, according to Tammy Van Dame, spokesperson for the Virginia State Police.

Van Dame said the man was not hurt in the accident, but had the heart attack when he got out of his car to survey the damage. She would not identify him Wednesday afternoon.

There were four separate pileups, Van Dame said. It started with a five-car accident followed by three, three-car accidents, she said.
