ELLEN H. BAXTER

Ellen H. ``Nellie'' Baxter, 95, died October 30, 1994, in John Randolph Nursing Home.

A native of Petersburg, Va., she was the daughter of the late Robert Churchill Hughes and Mary Martin Donnan Hughes and was employed by Ruckers for 51 years. She was a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a member of Sycamore United Methodist Church, Cockade City Temple (NU)6 Pythian Sisters, Fidelity Council (NU)7, Sons and Daughters of Liberty, VFW Auxiliary Post 622 and Colonial Heights Senior Citizens.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Lewis F. Jr. and Nancy Baxter of Chesapeake; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary B. and Gene Cummins of Prince George, and Harriet B. and Douglas DeBrabant of Chesterfield; six grandchildren, Robert D. Baxter Jr., Gerald C. Cummins, Kevin A. Cummins, Gerald Wayne Poe, Lewis Steven Poe, and Dr. Brian D. Baxter; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Donnan Baxter and a sister Harriet ``Hattie'' Kelly.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, Colonial Heights. Burial will be in Blandford Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Flowers are welcome, but contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
