David Bernd, Sentara Health System executive vice president and chief operating officer, has assumed a one-year term as chairman of the Virginia Hospital Association. The VHA is an alliance of 120 hospitals and health networks that develops and advocates health care policy.
MaryAnne Nixon has been installed as president of the newly formed Resort Beach Civic League and Coalition. Other officers are Mick Kaufman, vice president; Donna Baker, second vice president; Evelyn Griggs, recording secretary; Sandy Jackson, corresponding secretary, and Alice Little, treasurer.
