DONALD J. WALTMAN

Donald J. Waltman, 61, of Eastport, Maine, retired electrical engineer, Naval Sea Combat Systems Engineering Station, Norfolk, died Dec. 10, 1994, at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond.

Mr. Waltman was born in Eastport, Maine, raised in Boston, Mass., and raised his family in Virginia Beach. He was a veteran of the Korean War, attended M.I.T., obtained a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Northeastern University in Boston and moved to Virginia Beach in 1967. In 1991, he retired to Eastport, Maine. Earlier this year he moved back to Tidewater where his family could take care of him while he needed it.

Survivors include his wife, Norma J. Waltman; a daughter, Sharon Ann Dewey of Lafayette, Colo.; two sons, Kevin Wayne Waltman of Virginia Beach and Gary Paul Waltman of Norfolk; six grandchildren; one brother, Joseph B. Waltman of Yarmouth, Maine; one sister, Gertrude McCarthy of Reno, Nev.

The family received friends Wednesday night at the Kempsville/Pleasant Hall Chapel of Kellum Funeral Home on Princess Anne Road. They will also receive friends on Thursday, at the Pleasant Hall Chapel from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and a service will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. Burial will proceed at Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery, Virginia Beach.
