HUGH W. BRINKLEY

Hugh W. Brinkley, 79, of the 2900 block of Sandpiper Road, former president of Stokley Services Inc., died Dec. 20, 1994, in his home.

Mr. Brinkley, a native of Old Princess Anne County, attended St. John's the Apostle Catholic Church in Virginia Beach. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the European theater. He was a member of Circus Saints and Sinners, both Norfolk and Virginia Beach Tents; member of the Norfolk Sports Club; former member of the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club; and former member of the Norfolk and Portsmouth Executive Club.

Survivors include his wife, Marian Stokley Brinkley; two daughters, Barbara Brinkley Wamsley and her husband, Don of Greenville, S.C., Susan Brinkley Trenchard and her husband, John of Virginia Beach; a son, John Wade Brinkley of Norfolk; a brother, H. Stuart Brinkley of Virginia Beach; and five grandchildren, Holly Trenchard, Kelly Trenchard, Dana Wamsley, Christian Wamsley and Michael Wamsley.

A chapel service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, by Fr. Dwight E. Shrader. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
