Sophie Mae Meekins, 83, of the 1600 block of Portlock Road, died Dec. 22, 1994, in Chesapeake.
Miss Meekins was born in Tyrrell County, N.C., and was a member of Lindale Church of Christ, Chesapeake.
Survivors include two sisters, Hilma Neal and Dora Beals, both of Chesapeake; three half-sisters, Delilah Roach, Mildred Forehand and Doris Owens, all of Chesapeake; and two half-brothers, William Meekins and Marvin Meekins, both of Chesapeake.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery by David Vaughan. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m. and at family homes at all other times. Memorial contributions should be made to Lindale Church of Christ.
