GLENNIS I. BENNETT

Glennis Ivan Bennett, 72, died Jan. 5, 1995 in Norfolk.

Mr. Bennett was retired from the Norfolk Naval Base Police Department after 20 years, and was also retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years, having served in World War II and during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, Police Association of Virginia, and Fair Oaks Hunt Club.

Survivors include wife, Elsie Hylton Bennett; a daughter, Darlene Bennett of Norfolk; a son, Donnie Bennett of Chesapeake; two sisters, Ruby Meadows of Shady Springs, W.Va., and Phillis Bennett of Ohio; one brother, Jessie Bennett of Painesville, Ohio; and a grandchild, Jake Bennett of Chesapeake.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery, with military honors. The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 3 p.m. to receive friends. Cox Funeral Home is in charge.
