ROY B. FORBES

Roy Burgess Forbes, age 80, of 102 Hickory Ridge Rd. died Saturday, Feb. 11, 1995 in a Chesapeake hospital.

Mr. Forbes was born in Old Trap, N.C., the son of the late John Duncan Forbes and Lillian K. Burgess Forbes, the husband of the late Eunice Pugh Forbes, ``Beloved Wife'', and the father of the late Lavon F. Logan. He was a retired farmer, a contractual carrier of the U.S. Postal Service, a former owner and operator of the Pure Oil Station in Great Bridge, a service manager of the Virginia Carolina Tire Co., and he was affiliated with the James F. Betterton Service Center as a Service Manager.

He was a member of the Indiantown Hall Masonic Lodge (NU)52 AF & AM, Currituck, N.C. and a member of the Hickory United Methodist Church, Chesapeake, Va.

Mrs. Forbes is survived by one daughter, Arnette Forbes Manning of Chesapeake; one son, Roy Carlton Forbes of Bamberg, S.C.; four grandchildren, Roy C. Forbes, Jr. of Rock Hill, S.C., Kelly Logan of Richmond, Va., Toni Faulling of St. Stevens, S.C., and Pam Logan Kane of Berlin, N.H.; three great-grandchildren, T.J. and Chad Faulling, both of St. Stevens, S.C., and Zachery Logan of Berlin, N.H.

A funeral will be held at Twiford Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge, Chesapeake, Monday, Feb. 13, 1995 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Tom Mercer. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park, Elizabeth City, N.C.

The family will receive friends at Twiford Colonial Chapel from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday evening. All Masons are requested to be at Hall Lodge at 12:00 noon Monday.
