EMMA E. WARE

Emma Eure Ware, 90, of Hillhaven Nursing Home in Norfolk and formerly of Gates, died Friday, March 24, 1995.

Mrs. Ware was born in Hertford County. The daughter of the late Sawney E. and Mrs. Genevieve Askew Eure, she was a retired nursing supervisor, having worked at the former Sarah Leigh Hospital in Norfolk. She received her nursing degree from Simmons College in Boston, Mass. She was a member of the Christian Temple in Norfolk. A member of the Women's Post (NU)118 of the American Legion, she had served as a lieutenant in the Army Nursing Corps during World War II.

Surviving are four sisters, Helen Willey of Gates, Annie Mary Ward of Hobbsville, Malene Cammer of Norfolk and Musa Roche of Chesapeake.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Miller Funeral Home by the Rev. Ann Giles Benson. Burial will follow in Cool Spring Baptist Church Cemetery, Eure. Friends may join the family at the home of her sister, Helen Willey, Route 1, Gates. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cool Spring Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Route 1, Box 38, Eure, N.C. 27935, or to a favorite charity.
