ISAAC M. COPELAND SR.

Isaac M. Copeland Sr., 94, of the 5500 block of Daniel Smith Road, died March 24, 1995 in Virginia Beach.

Mr. Copeland was born in Chowan County, N.C., and was a retired merchant, grocery store owner, farmer and owner of Copeland Cleaners. He was the widower of Hettie B. Copeland. He was a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (NU)12 of North Carolina.

Survivors include a daughter, Marjorie C. Hanbury of Chesapeake; a son, Col. Isaac M. ``Mike'' Copeland Jr., USAF (Ret.) and his wife, Florence S. Copeland of Chesapeake; two brothers, M.E. Copeland of Suffolk and E.W. Copeland of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren, Clarice C. West and her husband, Robert C. West, both of Virginia Beach, Lt. Col. John M. Copeland, USAF, and his wife, Diane D. Copeland, both of Stuttgart, Germany and Jennifer S. Hanbury of Oakton, Va.; two great-grandchildren, Matthew D. West and Brittney West, both of Virginia Beach.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, by the Rev. Paul D. Moore. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
